Becoming Irrelevant With the Help of AI

You type a prompt. You get a polished answer. The grammar’s perfect. The structure makes sense. You feel like you got the job done.

But what did you learn?

Did you make a decision? Did you debate trade-offs in your head? Did you explore anything difficult, or did you just grab something that sounded good enough?

The truth is, a lot of people are skipping the parts of work that used to sharpen them. They confuse frictionless with valuable.

And the longer they do that, the harder it gets to go back to real thinking.

They forget how to sit with messy ideas.
They stop practicing how to write, argue, or analyse.

And eventually, their brain stops showing up… Because it’s not needed.

That’s the real threat of AI.

Not that it replaces us. That we quietly stop building the muscles that made us valuable in the first place.

If you’re not struggling sometimes, you’re not learning. You’re just typing.
