How AI Projects Fail Before They Even Begin

It usually starts with excitement…

A team wants to use AI. Nice! Nice!

Maybe they heard good things from another department. Maybe a vendor pitched a tool that promises speed, savings, or both.

The budget is approved.
The kickoff meeting has a slide deck.

Someone calls it “transformational.”

Then reality hits…

A few weeks in, nobody is quite sure who owns the work. The data is messy. People are confused.

Someone writes a message that sounds like, “Just try ChatGPT and see what you get.”

Six months later, the system exists, but it’s rarely used.
