The Myth of Speed in Agile
The Myth of Speed in Agile
Somewhere along the way, we confused Agile with speed. Not learning. Not adapting. Just delivering faster.
But Agile was never about speed. It was about feedback. Adaptation. Flexibility. Experiments.
Small, safe failures that help us get better. Speed is just what happens when that process works, not the goal itself.
The irony? Hunting speed actually slows you down.
You build the wrong thing.
You skip validation.
You push features that customers don’t care about.
Then you spend weeks fixing what should’ve been questioned in the first place.
If your team is moving fast but not learning, you’re just automating the wrong decisions.
So next time someone says “we need to be more Agile,” ask what they really mean. Because if they just want to go faster, they missed the whole point.
